Dr. Ray Woods graduated from Sydney University Medical School in 1982. He has wide experience in many areas of medicine including Neurosurgery, Obstetrics, Internal Medicine, trauma, skin cancer surgery and cosmetic Dermatological surgery. He is internationally recognised as the father of modern hair transplant technology and has won multiple life time achievement awards. His fascination with the concept of hair transplant developed at the age of 17, and in 1989 he decided to investigate the process. Since then, he has perfected the microsurgical art of gentle hair transplants using donor hair and body hair. He envisaged the discipline to be a process of microsurgical follicular extraction, but found worldwide practice was very different and removed from his vision.
