Norwood Stage 5
At stage 5 the frontal and crown areas have merged into a single large balding region. Only a narrow band of hair remains across the top, and it continues to thin.
Key facts
- ·Frontal and crown loss are now connected.
- ·Remaining mid-scalp band is thin and fragile.
- ·Donor supply becomes a key planning constraint.
Treatment
Large sessions (or two staged sessions) are typical. A realistic goal is coverage with reduced density rather than full thickness — prioritise the hairline and crown.
