Norwood Stage 6
Stage 6 leaves a horseshoe-shaped fringe of hair around the sides and back of the head. The entire top — hairline, mid-scalp and crown — is bald or nearly bald.
Key facts
- ·Top of scalp is essentially bald.
- ·Donor hair is limited to the occipital and parietal fringe.
- ·Full restoration is usually not possible.
Treatment
Candidates need good donor density. The realistic outcome is moderate coverage with a mature hairline, or combining transplant with SMP for a fuller look.
